Founding SWITCH

A 501(c)3 in the Upstate of SC that fights human trafficking and sexual exploitation.  Founded in 2012.

In 2010, I had heard about human trafficking for the first time and my heart broke for the victims. That was put on the backburner as I didn't think too much more about it until 2011 when I had heard about it again when I heard the voice of the Lord loud and clear.  He said, "I am calling you out of your seat, to get uncomfortable and to start something."  I had never heard the voice of the Lord the way I did that day and had no idea what to do but I did know that another organization, A21, existed so I researched and saw that you could host an awareness event in your living room through them which I did.  So, a few people came over to watch a short video on it and through that, I knew the Lord was calling me to start an organization that would fight human trafficking and sexual exploitation through awareness, prevention, demand, intervention and restoration.

After praying and asking the Lord to bring people who would partner with me as I knew I could not do this alone, He made my path clear.  I was just a stay at home mom with no professional background nor education at this point in my life.  1 Corinthians 1:27 states, "But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty" and boy was He doing that through this.

In August of 2012 I heard the Lord say, "Go pray over the strip clubs."  so there was a start with the three on the Eastside of town for 6 weeks.  During that time the Lord sent two lovely ladies who volunteered to pray over me and disciple me. They decided to join in on praying over the remaining strip clubs in the area.

The Lord just began connecting several people that had a heart to see this organization get birthed.  From an attorney, law enforcement officer, stay at home moms, college students, medical professionals, a pastor, and many more SWITCH was officially birthed in November of 2012.  Many have asked me how I got connected to each person and I wish I would have written out the story as it was unfolding but now 10 years later, some of it isn't as clear of a memory anymore but what I do know is the Lord did it.  He brought each person and connected each of our hearts to birth this organization and He chose to use this foolish young woman with nothing to offer to birth a vision through.  Won't HE do it every time.  Every time He asks us to do something, He promises to make a way.

My time in the addictions field.

At this point I had completed my degree in Psychology with a dual specialization in Crisis Counseling and Addiction Recovery.

I began working with opiate addicts and mental health by becoming the Intake Director within a local recovery facility.  I enjoyed being able to connect with individuals who called, desiring help but had fear of getting clean or sharing with a loved one that they had a problem and needed help.  I loved getting to encourage them to come in and just meet with me.  During the face to face, I often got to watch clients solidify that they were ready for treatment.  I cherish the moments that I was able to connect with these clients and help them see their way out of addiction.

Social Selling.

Getting paid for girl time was a joy!

In 2016, I knew my time working in the mental health and addiction field was coming to an end.  The Lord was calling me home to be able to be with my children again.  We had just purchased a home so I knew I needed to continue to bring income in.

I had heard all the warnings about doing social selling but I met this really sweet woman and an incredible line of home décor and jewelry and I knew I had to try.

I had gone through an incredibly hard time in 2015 and really struggled with having confidence in who Christ was calling me to be.  Through my friendship with my business coach, I learned how to trust the Lord again and how to walk in confidence of who He has called me to be.

Social selling will hold a special place in my heart for the gift it was to me.  If you are considering entering into this field, you won't regret it if you put the time and work into it.

If you are looking for a company, I would love to talk to you about GOFINITY.
